Q1.What does the home mean to you, besides simply being the building you live in?

To me home is not simply a place where I reside. It is much more than that. In fact it is not the name of a place, it is the name of a feeling and that feeling is safety, security, love and comfort. That is because home is where I share my life with my loved ones or my family. This is the only place in the world where I find rest, comfort and peace because of my caring parents and siblings.I would also add that the image of home is closely related to the image of a loving family.

The idea of home is incomplete without a loving family and I feel blessed that way that I have a family who takes care of my needs and gives me confidence to deal with the challenges of the outside world.

I know that not just me, everybody would agree that home is where we all genuinely belong. At all other places we feel lost and displaced.

I feel that my home is my rock solid foundation. It is where I have nurtured strong relationships and gained life experiences that moulded my personality. It is an essential part of my heart and mind, I would say. It is correctly said that home is where the heart is. So definitely, by no means a home should be called a place or just a building. It is my identity, my refuge and in fact, it is my whole world.

Q2.What is an activity that you do for fun? Has this activity got better with time? How?

The fun activity that pops up in my mind is baking. I love to bake cakes, cookies and pies.Actually, sometimes I bake salty foods like baked fish, chicken or veggies but baking sweet stuff is something I consider more fun. I usually do it with my sister. She has a sweet tooth and is always willing to help me with my baking. We bake something sweet almost every weekend and have fun trying new recipes.

Here I would like to tell you that I started baking cakes when I was in my early teens. Initially, it looked like a complex process without modern cake mixers. For instance, I remember how long I used to beat the egg whites for a cake recipe. It used to take at least one hour to prepare the batter and then another hour to bake it.

Now coming to the second part of this question. Yes, it has definitely got better with time because I got to know quick ways of doing things. For example, I started blending eggs with other wet ingredients in a blender to save time, instead of beating them separately.

When it comes to the baking stage, I am happy to tell you that it has got better too. Now I have a more professional oven that has more advanced baking options. That is why, now I enjoy baking more than I used to do in the past, and so does my sister of course.

Cue Card Questions

Questions can be posed as cue card questions like this:

Talk about listening to music

  • When did you last listen to the music?
  • What kind of music do you like?
  • Do you prefer live music or recorded music?

Answer:

Well, I listen to the music almost every other day so the last time would be only yesterday. I was at home and after finishing some school work I put my headphones on and I started listening to the latest songs by “Orients” (name any musical group or singer).Since I have always liked their singing and music, I enjoyed my time yesterday as usual.

The music was comforting and I almost forgot about how busy and hectic it was in the day time and even an hour before when I was finishing a school project. To tell you the truth, my focus totally shifted from the things I keep worrying about always, like my exam and tests etc.And after I finished listening to the song, I felt a boost in my mood and energy like always.

If I express my preference for the live or recorded music, I would say recorded music because I think it is more accessible than live music. You can get all genres of music online all the time so why waste your money on attending a live concert.

Live music is also enjoyable, I agree, and loved by some people, of course, but I like the recorded music better. For another reason, I would admit that I am an introvert kind of person and I enjoy doing my things alone, not in a gathering or in a group. So that was pretty much the reasons why I like recorded music more than live music.
